Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Test

Is the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test accurate?

The Better2Know Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test is a very accurate CE marked test. The test allows you to check for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea from the comfort and privacy of your home.

If you are not sure which STI you may have or are concerned about a risky encounter, we suggest you choose our Full STI Screen which tests for a range of sexually transmitted diseases including Gonorrhoea & Chlamydia.

How does Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing work?

Choose and buy your test from the panel on the right. We will then post your discreet test pack to your home (the postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is). In the pack, you will find a container for collecting your sample and we will also send you full instructions of how to do so. Simply collect a sample of urine in the container provided, then send it back in the post using the prepaid packaging provided. Better2Know will email you as soon as the results are ready.

When will my test kit arrive?

If you order your test before 4pm Monday to Friday, we will post it out to you on the same day, first class. Depending upon where you live, your test should arrive in 2-4 working days.

How long before I get my Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test result?

The results of your Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test are normally available within three working days from your sample arriving at the laboratory.

What happens if my test is positive and I need treatment?

You can speak to a Better2Know doctor and we can provide treatment for you (there is a small extra charge for this). If you prefer, you can take your results to your own doctor who will be able to prescribe the appropriate treatment.

Is testing through Better2Know confidential?

Yes. Your results and details are 100% confidential and we aren’t allowed to inform your GP or anyone else without your permission.

How long should I wait after sex before getting a Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test?

You should wait 2 weeks since a risky encounter before getting tested. This is because the test will usually be unable to detect Gonorrhoea & Chlamydia before 2 weeks have passed since infection.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will you send my kit to me?

If your order is placed before 4pm on a working day, then it will be sent the same day. Otherwise it will be sent on the next working day.

Q: Why do you need my email address?

Your Patient Services Manager, Louise Wright, will email you your login details to access your results, a confirmation your kit has been dispatched and finally when all your results are ready. We do not sell on or email you any other marketing materials, that is why we do not ask you to opt in or out of anything.

Q: Do I need to use my real name?

No, but the postman does need to know where to deliver the kit to. As long as you use a name that will get the kit to you, then we do not need your real name.

Q: What does the kit packaging look like?

It will arrive in plain white envelope with your typed name and address on it.

Q: What if I have any more questions?

You can email Louise by replying to one of the emails she has sent to you. She will do her best to answer them.
